Diversified Ethanol, has slammed through the acquisition of its new corporate headquarters and ethanol production building as of Monday evening, and received a permit from the city. The company's new building, located at 216 N. Commercial, in Eagle Grove, Iowa, will be the home for offices, engineering, sales, and a demo unit ethanol plant which will serve for R&D as well as production of ethanol. Gills Onions buys power plants from FuelCell Energy that will generate electricity from onion waste |

FuelCell Energy, a leading manufacturer of ultra-clean electric power plants for commercial, industrial and government customers announced today (23rd August) that Gills Onions, the largest year-round grower and processor of fresh-cut onions, has purchased two Direct FuelCell(R) 300 MA (DFC(R)) power plants that will reduce the company's energy costs by using biogas created from onion peel waste products to generate electricity, while also lowering its waste disposal expenses.

The development of a 108 million gallon per year ethanol project to be located in Pennsylvania, has been announce by BioEnergy International and the Lukoil Americas Corporation. On August 17th, Governor Edward G. Rendell of Pennsylvania presented BioEnergy with $17.4 M of state investments to support the project and a pilot plant to assist in the development and commercialization of BioEnergy's technology.

Nardina Resources has announced the signing of agreements to acquire 100% of the issued capital of Liberia Forest Products (LFP). LFP holds management agreements and permits covering over 700,000 hectares of land in Liberia with commercial agricultural potential, particularly for the cultivation of oil palms. The permits held by LFP include existing established oil palm plantations of over 8,000 hectares. Initial project scoping indicates the permits include over 150,000 hectares of land suitable for the establishment of productive oil palm plantations. Nardina proposes to develop a large scale, vertically integrated oil palm and biofuels project centred on the permits

Alternative Energy Sources to build ethanol plant in Illinois |

Kansas City-based Alternative Energy Sources Inc. has announced plans to build a 110-million-gallon ethanol plant 65 miles south of Chicago in Kankakee, Illinois. This follows an announcement on Aug. 15 that the company plans to build its first ethanol plant in Central Iowa.

market to buy a car, according to a study by global market research company Synovate. However, more than a third of these same consumers
lose interest when they learn that there is a

Minneapolis St Paul airport vehicles switch to E85 as part of state biofuels initiative |

A 6,000 gallon E85 bioethanol fuel tank has been installed at Minneapolis St Paul International Airport, making it the the first major U.S. airport to install an E85 fueling station for its own ground service vehicles.
This is the latest in a package of measures announced by Governor of Minnesota Tim Pawlenty, intended to promote the use of renewable fuels and increase the number of cleaner, fuel efficient vehicles on the road. Minnesota state government has increased its use of E85 in state vehicles by 53% compared to last year. Metro Transit, an operating division of the Metropolitan Council, is purchasing an additional 150 hybrid buses, as well as doubling the biodiesel content of its fuel supply.

ABG Limited officially opens Australia’s largest biodiesel plant |

The Australian Biodiesel Group (ABG) today (18th August) announced the official opening of Australia’s largest biodiesel production facility at Narangba, outside Brisbane. ABG Chief Executive Officer, Dr Len Humphreys, said the facility has a production capacity of 160 million litres per annum and was the first large-scale biodiesel plant in Australia, similar in size to leading European facilities.
