Imperial Petroleum gets initial purchase order for biodiesel

The Hoosier Biodiesel Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Imperial Petroleum, has received its first purchase order for B100 biodiesel sales in connection with its planned marketing arrangement with Domestic Energy Partners. The purchase order is for 20,000 gallons of B100 biodiesel per month with the first sales beginning September 1, 2006 and FOB the existing DEP production plant. The sales contract is subject to adequate testing by the purchaser to insure that the B100 biodiesel meets ASTM specifications.

Bio-Solutions Manufacturing launches bio-extractor programme

Bio-Solutions Manufacturing, Inc. (OTCBB: BSLM) (Frankfurt: B2T.F) today announced its commencement of its new bio-diesel venture by combining the recently acquired Bio-Extraction Services, Inc., (provider of the technology for extracting oil and grease from food service facilities' grease traps (interceptors) and municipal collection systems), with the proposed acquisition of Bioremediation Services, Inc. and its growing network of franchisees.

Franchisees' earnings in the past have been derived from services they provided to food service facilities for treatment of grease traps and drain lines and municipal sewer mains, lift stations, and treatment plants. The oil and grease waste derived from the commercial cooking establishments is divided into two categories: yellow and brown grease. There is typically twice as much brown grease per restaurant as yellow grease, and BSLM technology can handle both types.

Memphis Biofuels starts construction of large biodiesel plant

Memphis Biofuels LLC today announced the closing of its funding and the start of construction on its 36 million gallon per year biodiesel production facility. Located in Memphis, TN, the facility is designed to be expanded to 100 million gallons per year in the future. The Company plans to be in production this fall. Local management, Kenneth Arnold and Brandon Sheley, partnered with C&C Biofuels LLC, an affiliate of New York private equity firm Cohen & Company, LLC to establish Memphis Biofuels LLC.

The Company will utilize state of the art technology and regionally available, high quality vegetable and animal feed stocks to produce biodiesel for the mid-south and national markets. With the strong agricultural base in Tennessee, Mississippi and Arkansas, in addition to being located near the Mississippi River and in one of the nation's largest trucking and railroad hubs, the Memphis facility is ideally situated to serve regional, national and international markets.

Altra breaks ground on advanced-stage ethanol production facility

Coshocton Ethanol, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Altra Inc., announced that the Company has commenced construction on Ohio's first major ethanol production facility in the eastern Ohio/Pennsylvania region based in Coshocton, Ohio.

Breaking ground on the 50 acre Coshocton Ethanol facility continues Altra's current phase of its strategic projects as it seeks to build five hundred million gallons of biofuel production capacity through the acquisition of existing operating assets and the development of strategically located permitted facilities across the nation with state-of-the-art biofuel refining technology.

Malaysian state oil companies to distribute B5

The Malaysian government has announced it is hoping major oil companies will distribute "Envo Diesel" by the end of this year, according to Plantation, Industries and Commodities Ministry Secretary-General Datuk Dr Michael Dosim Lunjew.  Envo Diesel is five per cent palm oil biodiesel and 95 per cent petroleum diesel (B5), and was launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi on 21 March 2006.
