UK's Biofuels Corp raises $15 million |

Biofuels Corporation, an Alternative Investment Market (AIM) traded company which owns and operates a biodiesel plant capable of producing 250,000 tonnes of biodiesel per year on a continuous process basis, is raising £7.9 million before expenses (£7.3million after expenses) through an issue of 4,401,804 shares at 180 pence per share.

Brussels, 9 June 2006. The EU Wine Management Committee voted today on proposals from the European Commission to open crisis distillation of wine in France and Italy. For France a maximum of 1.5 million hectolitres of table wine and of 1.5 million hectolitres of quality wine can be offered for crisis distillation. For Italy crisis distillation has been opened for a maximum quantity of 2.5 million hectolitres of table wine and 100,000 hectolitres of quality wine. Further demands from Spain and Greece are still under examination.

Edmonton, Alberta--Jun 7, 2006 -- Syngas International Corp., a producer of hydrogen-enriched alternative fuels, has announced that initial findings in its biofuels research indicate that its biofuels could help increase lubricity in diesel fuels. Diesel fuel lubricity became an issue effective on June 1, 2006, when the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency made ultra low sulfur diesel (ULSD) compulsory. ULSD applies to all diesel fuel sold for use in roadgoing vehicles. The allowable sulfur content (15ppm) is lower than the previous U.S. standard (500 ppm), and aims to reduce emissions of sulfur compounds, nitrogen oxides and particulates.

A bipartisan group of US Senators and Representatives introduced a Congressional resolution today calling for a new national renewable energy goal: 25% of the nation’s energy supply from renewable sources by 2025. The resolution builds on a broad and politically influential coalition including agriculture, industry, and environmental leaders, as well as several governors and state legislatures.
“Today we have Republicans and Democrats, rural and urban interests, and representatives from over 140 different farm, forestry and environmental organizations coming together behind a common energy goal for the nation,” said 25x’25 Steering Committee Co-Chair Bill Richards. “This introduction is truly unprecedented.”
