The European Biomass Association is a non profit Brussels based international organisation whose mission is to represent bioenergy at EU level.
Biomass refers to renewable energy coming from biological material such as trees, plants, manure, and sometimes waste. Using various transformation processes such as combustion, gasification, pyrolysis the biomass is either transformed into biofuels, bioheat or bioelectricity and used for energetic purposes.

Pellets Roadmap for Europe
AEBIOM has recently published a brochure "Pellets Roadmap for Europe". This publication contains clear policy guidelines on how this promising market sector can be further developed in the coming years.
So far, pellets sector represents 3% of the final bioenergy use (3,3 Mtons used for electricity and 3Mtons for heat), however, according to AEBIOM, this bioenergy sector could represent 14% of bioenergy use in 2020 (75Mtons).
