Better Biodiesel, the exclusive fuel provider for the Earthrace biodiesel powerboat, today announced the Earthrace will be in New York City, at the North Cove Marina in Battery Park, from Wednesday, November 15 through to Sunday November 19, 2006.

Earthrace is a 78-foot trimaran powerboat that—powered by Better Biodiesel’s 100 percent biodiesel fuel—will attempt to circumnavigate the globe in a record 65 days. With the race slated for next year, its itinerary includes an 18-month educational tour now underway calling at 60 of the world’s great cities to highlight alternative fuels while raising awareness about sustainable resources and the environment.

Biodiesel fuel is made from plant matter and animal fats. It is biodegradable, derived from renewable resources, and produces lower emissions than petroleum diesel. The Earthrace boat is a showcase of environmentally friendly technologies such as low-emission engines and hi-tech hull design.

The Earthrace crew will be giving public tours of the boat Friday, November 17 through Sunday November 19, from 10 AM to 5 PM.
