Following the surprise announcement, late last week, that two senior board members had left the company, UK bioethanol developer, Green Spirit Fuels (GSF) has announced that it has brought in new members to its operational management team. The three new team members will replace managing director, Malcolm Shepherd, and finance director, Arthur Llewellyn, who left the company last Friday (16th February) "on agreed terms following a strategy review".
The new additions to the team comprise a new CEO and two new members with considerable City experience. Simon Wilcox, previously managing director of Wessex Grain GSF’s parent company, has taken on the role of chief executive officer. Mark Rowan and Alexander Russell have also joined the management team; Mark is primarily responsible for financial structuring and analysis and Alexander for corporate planning and resources.
Simon Wilcox commented: “I am delighted to have taken on this role. GSF has a really strong and experienced operational team who are all very motivated, but perhaps lacked the experience necessary in financial project management and operating in the City that will be required for this project. Both Alexander and Mark bring with them City experience and know-how and it is clear in the last month or so that we have been working together that they have a considerable network of contacts and a clear understanding of what is needed to finance this business successfully.
We recently secured a land option on Humberside for our second plant, which will be supplied by Gleadell Agriculture Ltd the region’s leading grain merchant. We are now progressing with the raising of the equity we need in order to commence construction of our first plant later this year.”
